Alpine Valley Homes History
I have been a licensed General Contractor in the Tahoe since 1994. I began my construction experience by starting my own painting company when I was in college and worked as a painter for the next 6 years, learning all phases of painting, interior and exterior. When I obtained my general contractors license, I spent four years specializing as a finish carpentry subcontractor. With this combination of experience with both the painting and the finish carpentry trades, I have developed a keen eye for finishing details and place a premium on craftsmanship and quality.
One of my areas of specialty has been in kitchen/bath remodels & additions. In most cases we do all of our own demolition, foundations, framing, carpentry, tile, appliance installation and painting/finishing. We can also do minor plumbing, wiring and drywall/texture work. Having the capacity to do all of these phases eliminates the need for many subcontractors and allows us to get in and out faster – an important consideration when a kitchen or bathroom is out of commission during the construction process. We also do limited production custom cabinetry and furniture, such as built-in entertainment centers, amours, vanities, wooden/log countertops & mantles, tables and stools.
In recent years we have begun to build high end custom homes in and around the Truckee area as well as the North/West shore of Lake Tahoe. It is our goal to bring production based techniques to the art of fine homebuilding. I have assembled a great team of employees, subcontractors and suppliers that allow us to make any design a reality.
Alpine Valley Homes Consulting
We also offer project management and design consultation services. The idea behind design consultation is that a contractor is involved with a project from the very start of the planning phase as a means by which a clients design dreams can be reconciled with budget realities. You will be given realistic cost expectations of a project as it is being designed. If desired, we take the project through the design, drafting, engineering and permit phases. Once plans are completed and permits are obtained, you are free to put the project out to bid to the contractor of your choosing. We sincerely hope you will choose Alpine Valley Homes.
